My salinity is 1.025, and I’m keeping it at 80 degrees. These are my results after 7 days. I have a API and Red Sea test kit and decided to test with both for assurance. They were different and have been different all three times. Need some advice. I don’t want to rush anything and start off wrong.
Made a couple small additions. GSP placement is temporary. Going to use it to cover the back wall. Found out my wife has “0” patience when it comes to adding corals. She almost got mad when I wouldn’t buy several zoas Saturday at our LFS.
My wife’s Zoa collection is growing. I think I let her run with the bait long enough. Time to set the hook and spring the 125 gallon full setup I found for $300 on her.
I'm rootin' for you! I'm trying to get my husband on board for switching the 75g from FW to SW (I just switched my daughter's 10g and my 29g about 3 weeks ago), and maybe eventually switching our 125g too. Sounds like you're much farther along in your mission than I am lol. Good luck!
Just stopping by and saw your build. Love that tank style. Zoas are always an eye catcher and can be addictive. just an fyi you may already be aware of. With the height of your tank plan you coral placement with light par in mind. Deeper tank loose par quick as they get deeper.
I love this tank. I’ve got T5s on it now and not putting anything in that requires hi par. It’s gonna be my wife’s zoa tank once I get my other one going. It’s a 125 gallon that I getting for $300. I may have miss typed. I’ll go back and check. Thanks. And I plan on starting another build thread for the 125 once I get started on it
And I added a cheato reactor that I placed inside a piece of conduit to keep the light from effecting my make shift sump. Gotta get the surface algae on the rocks under control.
Checked my cheato reactor today. Almost half full. I thought I had some how killed it all, but I cleaned out the dead and turned up the flow last week. Stuff took off like a weed. I guess it kind of is a weed but it’s intensional. Now to get the coral to react the same way with my nitrates being taken care of.
