aye , hope its not that brutal
Let's hope they find a happy place together!

Lets just say that it could have gone better!
It has taken 20 minutes or so for things to calm down, there was a lot of bites dished out from both!
She is now carrying on as normal, hopefully he will start to graze, he was pecking in the shop!

Not so fast lol, he is now in the sump refugium, it won't go hungry!
Until you have seen it you can't believe how evil they can be.
Tell Woodstock that and see if anything shrivels! ;)

Ok, fluidised sand filter, bit old school, as far as I understand it bacteria build up on the sand and keeping them just simmering feed them as the water passes.
I got this years ago to run a media, forgotten what, very basic design but should work a treat!
Body, the top and inner base are the important bits.

The top, water down the middle from the tank and return to tank.

The water from the tank hits these flutes on the base and makes it swirl, lifting the sand. :)
