Tank: IM 20 long
Heater: Finnex Titanium 100w
Flow: stock return + Jecod ELW-5M
Sand: ocean direct+TBS (on the way)
Dosing: all for reef
Probably gonna add a protein skimmer
Light: Nicrew Gen2

I want to keep crocea clam, torch and hammer coral. I may add some SPS too.

Nice IM nano. I’m part of the IM 25 lagoon club myself.
Scape looks nice and aesthetically pleasing.

The IM 20s are my favorite tank. The foot print makes the 20 long easy to work on. I am running a IOAOI skimmer on my 20 with good results.

I have a bubble Magnus mini Q. I think I gonna use filter floss and skimmer for filtration. Their stock filter socks are really hard to work with.

I absolutely hate socks.

I also have a couple Bubble Magus, I am a fan. I just choose the IOAOI for this tank to see if it could keep up with the Bubble.

What brand of floss are you going to use?

Good on you for getting some TBS sand.

The Hygger Nano Wave Maker 14 watts works well in this tank.

I do not know which floss I'm gonna use. I'm thinking I will buy one from Amazon😂

I took a friends advice. Bought a bag of generic floss on Amazon. I hate socks as well. I run with two media caddies with floss. With space for chemical filtration if needed. Water stays nice and clear.

Tank looks super nice! I think the socks are useful when you just set up the tank and there's sand floating in the water column.

When the tank is actually running, it's just a pain to clean. And the brown bio juice will goes everywhere too😅

Tank looks great! I just started the same tank with a Ocean Direct & TBS Sand as well. Your scape looks eerily similar to mine lol.

Following along!

What plans do you have for livestock?

Yes and as soon as I could I tossed em afterwards. But they are super useful initially.

I ended up getting the nature dimensions auto roller when I had. My UNS 30. I now have IM 15 and it's a great filter. Bit finicky fine tuning it and can go rogue but will stop itself if it runs for a few seconds longer than it should.

I meanly gonna have torch and hammer coral. And I REALLY want crocea clam. That top point of my rock work gonna be for the clam! I will go easy on live stock, probably just 2 clowns and 1 goby.

nice progress. I have the same tank, SPS heavy. I have a build thread here in case it gives you any ideas on customization options.

I use generic floss from the craft store (or amazon).

Every few days (or week) I throw it in the trash and put a new handful in. $15 is a year+ supply for me.

Got a great deal on POTO Mother’s Day sale. Got a total 200$ worth of gift cards! Where I live right now, there are no LFSs accessible. It was a great chance for me to fill my tank with some more coral! For all of these I spend about 150$

I'm supposed to be getting ready for a huge exam, but I keep thinking about my tank 😅. I found a nano protein skimmer on Taobao, and I'm thinking I might make a DIY sodium hydroxide CO2 scrubber for it. Also, guess how much the skimmer costs? 14$😂.
