I have a window above my tank with light coming in on the right side - see below picture. I didn’t realize how much light this was producing, but I just measured with a PAR meter on a sunny day. I couldn’t believe it, but I was getting a 200-300 par bump in some places beyond what the xr15 is putting out. The acro, monti cap, crocea clam, toadstool seem to be doing well even at this high par. Anyone else using natural light?

I have a window next to my tank and I get better polyp extension on sunny days. I keep my blinds wide open and window cracked during the day.

You clearly never seen farms using the sun, the reason why those corals are doing well is the sun. The same coral you would fry with 400 par led will happily grow with 1000 from the sun, they get healthier and hardier.
First SPS corals I had were under the sun daily, I barely knew anything about corals, no alk testing, magnesium or calcium. I don't know to this day how they even survived, I killed them on a tank reboot.

There was a guy many years ago on RC that was installing Sola tubes in his house. Pretty sure he lived in AZ or NM.

Yea but you need to consider how long they get that amount of light.. It's not 1000par for 12 hours or even 1000 par every day (clouds)..

Just some added facts. not arguing your point..
Granted this is @ 40 ft.. The chart shows max/ft. The slope is constant so to speak.
