Yep that kinda what i thought you meant but some gadgets have their own standalone controller so I didnt want to leave that out in the way I phrased it

My recommendation for return pumps is dual jebao 's . There returns are notoriously reliable and the dual gets redundant for safety. You could get two 3000 or 3500 for around $120 total.

FYI, I'm your neighbor in Utah. I see a few people drive down from Wyoming for fish/ coral. Some come for Acro's to pickup from Sunnyside corals.

That would be a long drive for me for coral but I did almost go pick up a 300g a couple months ago from SLC area. I live pretty close to Denver though (Cheyenne, Wy)

There has been very minimal progress on the stand this week. I have gotten a slight amount of wood filling and sanding in preparation for putting a flood coat of epoxy on the top to ensure the top (even though already verified flat with a straight edge) will be absolutely dead flat. I also will be sealing inside on the bottom, as I have made the bottom into a bit of a catch tray in the event of a small leak. Obviously a catastrophic leak wouldn't be caught by anything but, this would be a small piece of mind mostly for the wife but probably will save me from spilling the contents of a reactor or some such on the floor at some point.

In the mean time, I got the leveling feet for the stand in the mail, there are 12, each with the ability to support 550lbs… It might be enough, the only way to find out is science. Also received in the mail is the jacks that I’ll use for floor support. They are not what I expected but they will do the job, I ordered 8 and they support 3000lbs each.

Nice looking stand so far! I flood coated my stand too, turned out great and has held up spectacularly for 6 years now. Cant wait to see how yours turns out

No rush here. I do have some QT tanks one already with a clown whose buddy didnt make it through the Brook that they both had when I got them from petco, go figure. Plenty of opportunities to get a little jump start on stocking and have something to look at in the meantime XD.

Ah good to see someone else who has done a flood coat. I actually read a thread recently where someone recommended against doing it because they were scared of leaks. Thats why your do a seal coat maybe 2 if your paranoid about it then do the flood coat . Anyway what did you use for your walls?

That is no joke, seal coats are important! I was a little light on mine and were i to do it again would have done a second. For my walls, just 1/2 birch veneer plywood over the frame. I coated it all with killz and latex wall paint on the outside, then clear coated it with clear enamel. Killz inside with white rustoleum appliance enamel topcoat.

Was thinking more for bubbles coming from in the cracks than seepage. Seal coat for me was a quick brush down of problem areas, gaps and knots, wish i would have brushed a few spots a little heavier befor the pour is all. Total thickness was just over 1/8 inch. Tape works great for leaks on the underside, but sucks to remove sometimes.
