hello .. well i been dealing with this problem for past 2month atleast .. so problem is that my sps frags keeps bleaching (starting from top to bottom .. ) or some just stays brownish with little color if any ..
so one off my problems is nutritions are not detectable no algea no nothing for 1month was fighting with green cyano .. so i started to dose some coral food from red sea reef energy.. A+B seems to help a little for some of my zoas ..
im feeding 2-3 times a day just to get some readings on my nitrate test kit ..
i have 11 blue chromis , fox face , 1 clown fish , few hermits , few snails..
im running MaxSpect Gyre 350 double . 1 at 80% at peak 1 at 60 at peak ..
my alk stays arround 7.7-8.0
dosing Ati Essentials Pro ..
i have tried many thing and it just drives me crazy .. so im thinking maybe problem is low nutrions + too mutch light ..
i have 1 x radion 15 G4 sitting over my sps frags
lights sits arround 15cm( 6 inches) from water frags sitting on eggcrate 45cm(18 inches) from light to eggcrate .
i run sps ab+ on my radion .. here is how it looks in ecotech live .. is it overkill for sticks or !?

rest of the tank is lighted with 4x 54w t5

Run 80% blue and whites at 20%. I suspect light s are bright and they are getting burnt, and moderate water flow as well as occasional light feedings

Nutrients were my issue. I had undetectable po4 and no3. I dose no3 now and feed reef roids 6 days a week, AF energy and amino every other day, and shrimp for the fish twice a day. My po4 is just under .1ppm and no3 between 1-2ppm. The po4 seems to have less of an impact than no3.when the no3 is up the colors are saturated. It also took around 6 months of consistancy to get them to change color and start growing well. And lowering my alk. I used to run at 10dkh and now its between 7.3-7.5. Oh and the highest par my sps see is about 600.

Here is the thread when i was dealing with a similar problem. The advice in here made a world of difference for me. I bought a seneye reef for the par meter to know where I was at.

Oh the red sea nitrate pro test is pretty good. I use that in conjunction with the red sea trace colors tests and supplements. Dose the no3 slowly You will get a algae breakout. It subsides. I kill my hair algae with boiling rodi and the cleanup crew picks up the rest.I did a thread on that too. As a word of caution, this is what worked for me your situation may be different but it sounds similar.
