I’m having some really weird stn issues going in in my tank. It’s a 10 gallon and has been going good for a couple weeks i’ve been having some really bad tissue loss on some sps and some lps that i have no idea what it is or what to do to treat.

It all started when I added some acros from WWC from another tank we have that started RTNing and I figured the tank was just too young so i put them in here. They started doing better and then it all reversed and now one is almost completely bleached out (started at base), another is beginning to bleach at the tips, a tubbs stellata hasn’t been bleaching but growing algae on it, red monti cap starting to bleach on ridges, bigger green acro bleaching at tips (started 2 days ago). Also a lepto frag is bleaching on the ridges and my chalice bleaching which looks to have 2 flatworms on it that i haven’t seen on any other coral.

I also tested 0.15ppm copper in the water a few days ago so i did a wc and added a bag of cuprisorb. The problem still seems to be getting worse.

I sent in an ICP-MS test on both the tanks water and freshly mixed saltwater hopefully they come back soon.

Here are pictures. I also FW dipped for 10 seconds the 2 worst looking frags and here is what came off of them, if anyone can ID anything in all that? Please help im at a loss of what to do here.

What is the source of the copper? I would advise against fresh water dips.
honestly i’m not sure. I had 2 dry side magnets submerged in the back chamber (it’s an AIO) so the power head i moved to the side and the other one i couldn’t move so i double ziplock bagged it for now. I’m just at a loss at what this could be, i’m assuming copper didn’t help but it also doesn’t seem to be the only issue.

could it possibly be bacterial infection from the frags?

Definitely a huge swing in alk. Would be suprised how much a few frags can change consumption.

This either looks to be an alk or salinity issue

I’m dosing ESV 2 part and haven’t had any alk swings lately. Stays around 8.6-8.7 then after my WC yesterday went to 8.8. Salinity too, and I even checked calibration on the refractometer.

This is a 10 gallon tank that will be very susceptible to changes in water chemistry. Also, many different species affected.

With that said, am I understanding correctly. No issues with the corals in this tank for three years until the past two weeks. Were these corals in this system or the newer system when they started having issues.

You need to identify the source of the copper and that needs to be removed. I agree with the water change and cuprisorb.

Dipping will likely only stress the corals further. Given that the acros, Montis and chalices all started having issues around the same time a couple weeks ago, I'm leaning toward chemistry being the culprit and less likely to be a bacterial or biological source simultaneously affecting the corals from the various genuses at once in a short time.

0 or even 0.01 po4 is no good. Coral are starving.

Wait, what? You fresh water dipped them? You mean fresh salt water? If it's rodi or tap, just throw them away. They're dead.
