Really could use some advice on placement of some new corals. I just picked up a Miami Hurricane "Look-alike" Chalice, about 4x2" and a tri-color favia or possible favities coral that is about 5-6 inches in diameter. Right now they aren't mounted to plugs or rock rubble just sitting on the sand bed while I figure it out (I know they are way to close to each other atm). The Dragon Soul Favia in the pic is going to be moving to my office tank so that space will open up. Anyway based on my aquascape and sand bed can you all provide me some suggestions? I don't mind figuring out a horizontal mount on one of the towers if necessary or simply leave them on the sand bed on some rebel. Do these seem like good pieces? Thank you.

Very nice!

What type of lighting do you have on the tank? What about the placement and light from where they came from?

Favia and Chalice corals prefer low to moderate lighting, ideally in the 50-150 PAR range. So near very bottom in most cases.
I've also found they get quite annoyed sitting in the sand. I would recommend picking them up a tad onto a rock, or just a piece of rock just for them. They are not a fan of the sand getting into their mouths, this kinda stresses them

The lighting is a single AI Hydra 32 running a modified AB+ schedule (BRS). Even at the bottom I'm getting between 80-100 in the front of the tank. I plan to glue them both to some rubble to get them off the sand. I was just trying to figure out if they would somehow be placed in anyway on the rock structure. I heard that Favia were encrusting? This new one is so different from the Dragon Soul I have; the mouths are so much smaller.

Are those goni in the right corner? No problems with being so close to the Favia? Could you also just clarify one thing, are those mounted on a slight angle rather than completely horizontal? Hard to tell from the picture.

No frogspawn and hammers actually were mostly all on this side. No problems as I tell. Favia mostly separate except with each other and yes most were at some sort of angle .
