Hi there,

I have an aggressive Pygmy Hawkfish. I’m having problems introducing new fish to the reef tank. I was curious what you guys suggest? Should I return him to LFS? Or are there specific fish that I should get that might be compatible with his temperament?

Placing the aggressive fish in an acclimation box for a couple weeks while the new fish settles may help.

Maybe place a mirror against the tank to distract him

I’ll try this but how would I know when the right time is to release the aggressive fish from his acclimation box?

Back to LFS if you don’t want to limit yourself.
Aggressive fish keep others under stress, and this can lead to poor health for others, and frustration for you.
