Love the idea, I'm in the research phase now. Over here we build brick and mortar, makes the foundation of the tank easier

Alright, so I am back with a update to the 1500 gallon build. It's now Aug,2021; we have been busy running the plumbing lines for the aquarium. Not only does the tank sit on the first floor but the filtration is remote in the basement about 50 ft. Down and about 75 ft over to the left. We ran 2x 2 inch drains and 2x 1.5 inch returns, and a dedicated 2 inch water change line.

Of course the worst possible situation would be a leak somewhere along these lines. Once everything has been spray foamed and drywalled in it would become a labor intensive endeavor to track down any leaks within these lines.

Tank actually sits above the professional theater room/ golf simulator so a leak here but also mean damage to some expensive equipment.

So we decided to cap all of the lines off underneath the aquarium and join them together in the basement in order to run a pressure test. We wanted to Make sure these lines would hold at least 5 PSI long term.

It's now March 2022 and we can really start to see the filtration room and aquarium take shape. we called for a tile shower basin to hold all of our water and filtration equipment with a specialized floor drain to ensure that any leaks would be contained within this area.

Up above we can see the aquarium starting to get framed in and how it will look with the rest of the house.

I was finally able to win the battle to get access panels on the front of the aquarium. You can see in one picture where it is completely drywalled on the front side and another picture where they removed the drywall and gave us a large opening.

Next up is the really fun part now. The actual setup is coming!

Kind of what I was thinking as well. Even with a steel brace at the top and bottom that center point on glass will have an obvious bow once filled. 1" would of been a much better choice. One of major reasons you don't see many tanks that large in glass

the challenge would be to get the seams beefed up , armore the floor and even the sides would not even be a option
