Well my foxface graduated from QT into my DT so I've added two beautiful butterflies into QT today... A Pearlscale who already eats like a horse and a CBB. The CBB ate some mysis for me at the LFS but not voraciously. I fed a small amt of mysis soaked in seachem garlic about an hour after they got acclimated but the CBB wasnt interested. I was expecting as much and am prepared for the challenge they pose.

Tomorrow Im going to try some clam on the half shell, if that doesn't get any attention, I'll try blackworms Wed.

was hoping to hear from some others as to what has worked for them.

I've had 3 CBB's over the years, all eat or ate(2) Hikari mysis. Mine will only eat the "whole" mysis shrimp, does not go after pieces or parts, just ignores them. Picky fish :) Try live brine or blackworms, maybe even make a little feeder out of a piece of PVC with caps pushed on the ends, drill some holes in the tube so he can pick without competition. God luck.

If I got them to eat anything it was mysis. I have one at the store that will even take a pellet or two. Live foods are a good option.

Well I gave him clam on the half shell today... he took a poke or two at it but that was about it. He was very interested though. I also tried live brine shrimp and he went right for it! Ate about 5 of them which I consider good since the CBB is only about 1.5"

Ive heard its not to good to get them started on live food, otherwise they never want anything else... And brine shrimp prob aren't the most nutritious thing either

Just start mixing in the mysis a little at a time. The size of the mysis seems critical for mine. I ran out of Hikari brand and tried PE Mysis and he wouldn't touch it, they are larger size individuals, at least the pack I tried, versus the Hikari brand. I don't know if it will matter to yours or not. I love these fish, one of my favorites.

Not looking good so far. Wont touch live blackworms, was eating live brine aggressively but even that is starting to taper off. Only other thing he's touched was clam on the half shell but even that, he only pecked at two or three times.

Maybe try Roe if you can locate any. V20 Reef Caviar works wonders for picky fish. Best of luck. Beautiful fish.
