So my 20 gallon long is being used as my quarantine and medium term display tank while I finish the display tank build. I have a fluval ac70 with two sponges, thought added space for bacteria.

We got our new inhabitants today, Nemo (named by my three year old) and Black Sunshine (named by my 6 year old). The black and white is just chill while the orange is hyper active, he was the same in the LFS tank that's why my son chose him.

I matched the water temp and salinity. I added a sechem patch, Bio-spira, half a bottle of the 8. Something rated for 75 gallon, about an hour before the fish but oddly it registers in the .2 ppm. I didn't bring any of the LFS water into the tank so not to introduce the ammonia from travel.

Going to try feeding a small portion tonight to see how they take to it. Won't start meds for three days. I have prazipro and sechem copper (forgot the name) along with the test kit.

Thinking I might do a water change tomorrow if the ammonia doesn't come down.

First feeding is going well. They are lazy opportunistic eaters right now. Not looking for the food, but if one floats close by, chomp. Black Sunshine moved so quick my daughter flinched.

I have the power head angled up to get surface agitation but see where things will collect on the bottom based on the sinking pellets. If they were in that area it would be a buffet. I count about 20 small pellets in that corner.

I just finished QTing 2 clowns. The recommendation to me by @Humblefish was to first treat for 10 days with Metrodonazole in the water column sinceClowns are highly susceptible and common to have Brooklynella. I did this treatment while very slowly ramping up my Copper treatment to full therapeutic dosage...I ramped up for 6 days. After Metro, i performed a large water change with water that was already pre-treated to the therapeutic levels of copper. I also ran carbon for 24hrs to further remove residual Metro. The clowns were kept in the Copper for 30 days. Then performed another large water change, ran carbon again for 24 hrs to help clear out the Copper. Then treated with PraziPro (1st dise) and then 2nd dose 6 days later. Completed Prazi... performed another water change, ran carbon, and monitored in QT for past 3 weeks...my DT want completely ready from the cycle, so that's why i kept them that long in QT after treatment. They seem as healthy as can be right now!

Thanks for the info. I will get the metro tomorrow and start. One question, doesn't the carbon remove the copper also?

I've read it doesn't do a very good job of removing copper. Plus only ran it 24 hrs while using copper. You could probably skip that since the metro will clear out of the water column on its own after its halflife anyhow... but i don't recall the metro half life! Any antibiotics running with copper can cause a bacterial bloom and i didn't want that occurring, so I ran the carbon with a huge water change. I tested the copper about daily to ensure i always remained in the therapeutic range. Another good idea is to get a small air pump and air stone and keep some oxygen in the water during all treatment.

Thanks again, I will need to get carbon while I'm out tomorrow also. What metro did you use?

I believe it was Seachem Metro-Plex. Dose 125mg (1 scoop) every other day for 10 days... total of 5 doses. I would dissolve it in some tank water and then pour into the QT.

Update on the new additions. Black Sunshine is eating very well and appears to be the dominate of the two.

I can't tell if Nemo is eating though I never see.

From the pictures can anyone tell if there is anything wrong that I might be missing. I have a video but it is too large but if needed I can shrink it.

Some stats
Temp 79.2
pH 7.71
Salinity 1.025
Seachem badge shows safe

Or am I being over paranoid?

Thanks in advance

Did you tread your fish by any means in the QT?
I think your nemo is sick and as results stressed:(
See spots on her.
Maybe @Humblefish or @melypr1985 can confirm this.

Treated with API General. I'm going to start copper but didn't want to stress black Sunshine in the process. I thought he wasn't looking well and wanted to be sure before slowly ramping up copper.

Thank you!

I see white spots on the fins, but it looks too large to be ich or velvet. Lympho is one possibility: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/lymphocystis.257461/

However, it could also be flukes: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/flukes-–-general-guidelines.224423/

If flukes, they should all be gone within 24 hrs of treating with General Cure.
Thank you so much I will start general cure again. I didn't notice these until after I stopped a 6 day dose so the fluke diagnosis seems logical. I will keep you updated!

At 48 hours the spits look the same if not bigger. I did one dose of general cure and ready to do next. I received metroplex today though so I may switch medications. I'm at about .15 on the cupramine.

Any suggestions?

Should I remove copper while using metroplex? I was ramping up at the time and didn't think about it when I gave the first two doses.

Plus side, Nemo seems to be acting better. Eating, swimming more, and doing the submissive shake when Black Sunshine pecks at him or guards the food. I don't think it is going away yet, and these are probably not the best pictures.

Noticed in the posts you linked after a dip I should move to a sterile tank. Should I separate the two fish or dip each and move to a new tank? Or is the fact I'm using metroplex in the current tank sufficient enough to place back into the tank.

Thank you for all of the assistance @Humblefish!

I would use both medications together, just in case one of the fish also has ich or velvet. Combining copper + metro treats the "Big 4": Ich, velvet, brook, uronema.

It is always optimal to transfer the fish into a clean, sterile QT post bath treatment, to prevent reinfection. However, if you are keeping up with your metro dosages that should eliminate any free floating parasites in the water.
