I broke down this week and took the money I didn't spend at the MTRC frag swap on a Sigma 180 5.6 macro lens. It was cheaper than the Canon 180 that I would love to have and in fact, it was about 25% of the price of the Canon 100 that I'd like to have as well.
I bought this one so I could shoot the stuff in the tank, and it turns out, sometimes I have to back away from the tank (maybe the 100 would have done it, but at about $400 as opposed to around $100... we'll live).
My first shots...
Green Slimer under 14k phoenix bulbs + actinics.
Picked up the lower one from Lighthouse Corals... don't ask, I don't know.
The other one I had a shot, but "someone's" old sailfin decided to flare.
I believe it's a pink milli, it's encrusting pretty well, good polyp extension.
This is the turquoise stag that I got from BKV1997 at the B'ham swap last year. Not nearly as dark as his, but after seeing his setup, I don't expect it to ever look that good. (and he didn't even type it himself.)
My ravaged birdsnest, I don't know if I did it or the fish, but I have about three small frags sitting on the rock. I love the color change as it gets closer to the light.
Lastly, the red planet. Finally, a little green around the base, love the purple tips on this one.
