New & confused .....AI Hydra 52

I'm considering upgrading from my currrant set up of HID's & T5's to AI hydra 52's.
Sorry if I'm missing the obvious, but I cant seem to understand the control ability?
Is it in the fixtures them selves,like the reef radiance lights? Is it done thru connections to a computerrt & then installed above the tank? Or is a controller needed to be purchased seperatly? like one for my APEX, or an AI wireless controller( but then are adapters needed for the lights to communicate w/ the wi fi controller?
I would need to buy 3 fixtures & cant see having to spend another 2-300 for controller/cables/ adapters

The hydras have wireless communication with each other and the ai controller or director. You would need either the controller from ai which I believe is right around $70 or the director from ai which is around $100. The director allows you to control the lights from your computer or cellphone. It's pretty cool for the extra $30.

If you wish to control the Hydras, you need the AI controller, to be purchased seperately.

No need for extra cables.
The AWM connects to the DC8 with the aquabus cable. Otherwise it is wireless to connect to the Hydra's
