Hi guys,

Just brought my first frag of yellow star polyps, and put it in my tank. It doesnt look healthy and seems like it might have aptasia? Or something else on it. If it does it's going in the bin. Didnt get to veiw it due to lockdown.

i don't think those are star polyps at all firstly. Star polyps usually have a purplish mat with no little "nubs" like that coral has. I also see some zoa polyps open on the right lower section. Pretty sure those are either zooanthid's or palythoa's.

Yes those are aiptasia you see there. Many ways to rid yourself of them without throwing out the coral. Which IMO is a horrible way to be in this hobby. No regard for a living creature.
