New Eschopps S-200 Help!

What the heck is going on? Previously, I had a cheap Coral life skimmer that was easier to tune. Have it up on marine pure blocks in 6-7 inches of water. Pure white foam, first time plugging it in. Normal? How long will it do this?

U need to raise it up more. Get some eggcrate under it or a fancy acrylic adjustable stand.

hi, just breaking in,normal,remove cup let overflow into sump ,may take a day or two ,but try to adjust tomorrow. :)

The water level is just above the pump and diffuser plate? Raise it up more?

Ok, my water level is a bit high and it’s throwing crazy micro bubbles into the tank. Will get after it tomorrow!

It was way worse in 7-8-9 inches....just all clear foam.

If the water level is way down and low both in the sump and the skimmer than i would turn the air down.
Idk how thats possible but if it is...

I have the same skimmer. It's been doing the exact same thing as yours since day one and now 6 weeks later too. I've tried it on a stand and off. Adjusted the air intake and water gate. Just when I think it might be setting down, I go away for a few hours and it overflows again. I think it is to big for my tank set up and there is not enough waste in the water to get it functioning like it should.

I have the water line in my skimmer prob 2" below the neck where the skimmer cup and body meet.
Mine isnt cone shaped but eh. Lol.

Is it an Eshopps model? I would say mine is 8" below the cup connection point similar to the OP s pictures.

being brand new ,at 8" deep should break in ,within a day or two,just let over flow into sump,put cap on daily and try to adjust,are good skimmers

Agree esshops makes good skimmers. If this is common or ok on that skimmer than boo. Lol.
You shouldnt have this. You shouldnt have to remove the cup to let if just foam over. Lol. Thats crazy. Good luck. Hope you figure it out.

It’s at 7 inches now, still overflowing like a champ. If it’s still overflowing like this after the weekend, I may call Eschopps and ask for the 120. I agree, this may be too big for my tank. Rep at Reef a Palooza assured me it would be fine for my tank, Red Sea reefer 250.

No such thing as its too big when it comes to skimmers. Its not overskimming cuz its too big. Sorry wish i could help or was their in person.

Ran it for about 4 hours yesterday but turned it off bc of all the microbubbles. Ran about 4-5 hours today, just going to keep it on and let it do it’s thing? What are my options. Watched every YouTube video imagineable
