Hey all,

I bought a flame angel from a lfs yesterday and they go through a quarantine process with the fish for 28 days. The flame angel was doing well for the first day but today it was lying on its side in the sand. I did a fresh water dip and it seemed to help a bit but not much. I noticed some white marks on its fins, does it look like ich? Any advice is Appreciated. Thanks!
Parameters:

They will want a 30 second video under white lights to assess breathing and other stuff to help your fish

This fish is a victim of Aggression as seen on tail and fins and unfortunately appears to be moribund and will likely not swim nor eat normally if at all and is severely weakened. Unfortunately there is nothing I can recommend that will perk it up and offer it a fighting chance sad to say.

Maroon, one of the nastiest of clowns. If it has not yet gone after your hand- It Will

Sorry, I agree that the tail fin damage is severe and probably caused by another fish. Did the tail look normal at the store? Did the angel have any bout of rubbing its tail in a shipping bag or container? That can also sometimes cause tail damage like this.

I believe (but it may be an optical illusion) that there are white spots in several areas - I would carefully watch the rest of the other fish. PS - and sorry about this one - My guess is that it will not recover (as the others have said) - my second guess is that it has a systemic bacterial infection causing the symptoms - with or without a potential parasitic infection
