New here

Red Sea has offered me a $900 credit for a tank that costs significantly more than that brand new. Given the circumstances, I have reached out to a law firm to explore the possibility of pursuing a large-scale lawsuit against Red Sea. This is in response to their apparent decision to knowingly leave a defective product in consumers’ homes without issuing any kind of recall. While I understand this may be a long shot, I feel it’s important to take action, as I do not appreciate being treated unfairly.

Hello all new here was told to post about my redsea 525xl failure that happened last night. Thankfully we were home at the time and was able to save the fish and corals but now scrambling to find a New tank as my LFS is holding everything for me and I have a order of corals I had to postpone. Just a total headache. But hi all looking forward to reading and learning.

Welcome

I'm sorry that the tank came apart. My brother in law had a 150g on the second floor that was rimless and it did the same thing. Major damage in the house. He never started a tank after that. I built a canopy on the top of my 180g hoping that it would aide from not having a catastrophe like yours. Wish you the best in getting the next system up and running

Horrific - question - did your LFS sell you the tank - or? If so - I hope they are making you good. Though it looks like there is a fair algae buildup on the tank walls. I would register a strong compiaint with Redsea - And welcome to the site - everyone here is supportive

I hope your solution will work - however - I don't think it will (the canopy) - in fact - if its sitting on the glass - it may make it worse - which is the only reason I replied. Was your Brother In Law's tank a RedSea - I find all of them have problems - perhaps I'm wrong

Welcome to R2R!!

Sorry to see the seam failure on your tank. I am a two time offender of buying a used tank and it leaking. The scramble to save livestock and the house is stress level 100 so i know exactly what you are going through.

After the last tank failed the wife insisted that i buy a new tank, I purchased the Innovative Marine INT240 Reef System. It is a dream tank and the sump is next level IMO.
Give IM a look while you are shopping around I wasn't disappointed!! Good Luck!!
