Thanks. I'm talking with Planet right now about building my tank. I do have a few questions about your tank if you don't mind. Did you get any of their upgrades like reinforced seams or PVC bottom? Did you use one of their "Tideline" overflows and if so, how do you like it? Would you add a second one if you could do it again to get better surface skimming?

I'd like to do the plumbing diagram like what you did, but I've got no AutoCAD skills. I've not even looked at that program in 20+ years :( I was poking around the net for blocks that had the gate valves and such, but did not really find much out there.
no upgrades but i do have the tideline overflow and it is amazing, i have the larger one and is 100% adequate

well i had a productive weekend as the wife was away and i was able to spend some quality time setting up my garage from the recent move (not done yet, but a good start) and also get my final plumbing part complete.... the UV.

Also got the 2 media reactors in their proper place, not sure how that is going to work when it comes to changing media every 2 months or so but we will try it.

I did setup the apex PAR meter and i am topping out at 145 so i think that is too low as it is near the top so i may need to increase the power and/or lower lights (at 13" now)

It went well and i tested with water but did not fire it up, not sure i need it yet ?

Looking at your UV plumbing, it appears that you Tee'd off you return pump in to the UV, then out of the UV and split that directly to your DT and where else is it going?

this is not 100% accurate but it tees off of the return through the uv and back into the return line, the unions restrict flow to ensure the proper flow, i know it seems that the flow would fight each other but it works perfectly

Thanks. Do you notice any difference in water clarity when you run the UV? What about cleaning the glass, any difference there? I'm trying to decide if I want to run a large UV on the main tank for both pest and clarity reasons, or just run a smaller (but still oversized) UV on my QT setup to combat pests before they can even reach the DT.

i would run one on your display, it is just one more precaution. i am really not sure what it does but i do know that my system runs well and i would not change a thing, except adding a calcium reactor

i replace 4 gallons a day every day, equals about 8% per week
actually i replace 11,000 ml per day to be exact

For what it’s worth, 11,000 ml is a little under 3 gallons.

Also, I replace 8000 ml a day, or a bit over 2 gallons in my 300 gallon system (220G DT, 300G in the system)

How would you say your 4x ap700 compare to 8x 360x ?
i dont know that but i have 2 360x and 4 ap700 and the combination works well but i personally would not put all 360 but they are great lights so i do think it would work but i am a fan of 2 different light spectrums.
