Here is the drain prep and cement fix.

Here is the tile prep to go around the pipe.

Here is the floor prep for tile.

And here is the tile set in place!! I’ll grout it tomorrow after the thin set is dry.

Nicely done! Now I'm going to have to find something else to tease you about. Lol

(I don't know if that's a Tool Shop grinder you have but it looks like one. If it is one, I feel obligated to let you know I know three different guys that used them. All three guys wound up in the hospital because the head let loose. One guy had to have a pretty serious surgery because he was using a small diamond blade and, when it let loose, it tore up his inner forearm quite severely. Do with this info what you will but, if it were me, I'd toss the grinder and get a more dependable one. (I actually have a Milwaukee.))

It is a Milwakee angle grinder. I have been using Milwakee for years and find them to be very dependable. I have had that tool for a while now and never had a blade come loose. Thank you for the info tho it will make me check prior to starting a project that everything is tight!!

Neat work!
Can I ask why you left the drain higher than the floor?
Or do you plan on cutting that pipe flush with the tile?
Keep up the good work, love following this build.
Regards

So the reason it sits so high is so it is flush with my stand floor. My stand has a 1” lip all the way around the inside to keep and water that may leak inside and not on the floor. With the drain being there it now has a place to go if I ever develop a leak. Also it will be used for water changes and any other waste water I produce.

So it’s all complete with grout in place. Looks amazing and very happy it was done correctly because it would have bugged me. No video taken for the grouting but there will be more videos in the future. Here are the final product pictures.

Well the rest of my stuff is here at the house. I’m working on the drain hole now and getting the stand prepped for the tank to go on. Here is the stand in its spot. Hope to have the tank and hood on it tonight and have the inside of the stand repainted.

Figured while I was on a roll I’ll keep going. Drain done and first coat of paint on. Gonna let that dry for a bit then get the second and possibly a third on. Also got the hole on top for plumbing cut in and ready to go. Should be no problem to have the tank on top of this tonight!!

Are u really going to put frags and refugium in the same section of your sump?

Very nice and thought out btw I love builds where every detail is thought out like this
