It just looks like a Jebao pump to me. I'm not a big Vortech fan, but isn't the BIG thing about a Vortech that the motor isn't in the water?
If you want low cost and low profile look at the Reef Power RP-M (I think it's sold by Coral Box as well). https://www.reefbreeders.com/shop/rpm/

The VorTech is the only IP that they haven't managed to steal yet. I agree with Ron, this one looks like it is 100% in tank... why have fins on the rear section if it was going to be outside of the tank... or ceramic impellers.

Unsure, it kind of looks like it’s outside, but they don’t have any pics or videos out yet

It says no electric devices inside of pump. So its finally here.
It says no electronics. I took that to mean the controlling bits, not the motor?

Their older pumps, WP, RW and PP series, electronics were in the motor.
That's how I was able to add a 0-5v control line to use my Profilux to control them.

The newer models, SW etc, you can not cut into the control lines that way because the electronics are in the powerhead's controller.

That is exactly what Jebao's slick and shading marketing wants you to think. Don't get me wrong, I've bought quite a few Jebao pumps over the years. But I understand what I'm buying (cheap and under designed) and what I get (less life expectancy than I'd hope for).

They should pay someone in the US to really go over their site and fix all that stuff. My big question still is, is this like the vortech or just another fully submerged pump?

Not a vortex clone.
The back edge most distal to the front (propeller) is completely flat suggesting it sits on a glass (inside). In addition, there is clearly no thickness sufficient for strong magnets at the one edge half way through the device where one could imagine splitting the device .
what is interesting is that this device appears to not have the ability to rotate and direct flow which has been a key
“Feature” of prior versions of this device.

Not a major update in my opinion
