Hello Everyone,

I have a 60 frag tank 48x24x12, it currently has an 48" ATI 8 bulb T5 over it. ATi fixture is going to need new reflectors, fans, and bulbs, instead replacing all of that i want to upgrade to a led fixture. I also have a 60 gallon cube with AQlife t5 hybrid/ radion xr30 gr4 pro over it and a radion xr15 g4 pro currently not in use.
The question is should i replace the light on the frag tank with a 48" reefbreeders Photon-v2+ or purchase a radion xr30 G5 and swap the Xr30 g4 with XR15. This would give me 2 xr30's (g4 and g5) over the frag tank and AQlife T5/xr15 over the 60 gallon cube. Both tanks are SPS, i really confused right now but i need to make a discussion before the end of the radion sale

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You’ll be very happy with RB Photons
Your option is two Orphek OR3-120 blue plus

If you want as good or probably better results than you are having now, you should change the reflectors and fans. The reflectors, depending on the damage, will give you a substantial boost.
Worse case scenario for a 48", 8 bulb fixture:
Reflectors: 17.95 X 8 = $143.60
Fans: 19.95 X 4 = $79.80
ATI bulbs: 20.95 X 8 = $167.60
total of $391.00 + shipping.
I just changed all you need to change, plus all the sockets, in my 48" 8 bulb fixture because it was 13+ years old and I know it will last at least 13 years more before I need to do it again. I had sold the fixture a while ago and got it back from my friend in a bad shape for some reason. I'll use it over a 120gal system. ATI has all the parts and they can help with what you need to know, if you choose to replace the parts. German quality parts and superb customer service!
I don't think changing reflectors, fans and bulbs (max of an hour of labor) should be an "excuse" to spend lots of money with LEDs and have to deal with all the trouble that comes in the LED box.
Some times we have the gold in our hands and we look for bronze.
Hope you choose wisely. Good luck.
