Welcome aboard!

Do you know if you're wanting fish only, mixed reef, SPS?

Hopefully there are no fish in your tank now right? If you google "saltwater fish for a 30 gallon tank", you'll gets loads of lists. With that said, you should always look up the 'appropriate tank size' for any fish your interested in, you should always look up its feeding and care requirements, and you should always look up its compatibility with the other fish in your tank. Do a bit of googling on any fish before you buy.

your tank can fit 5-6 small fish IMO, I would get 1 or maybe 2 to start, wait a month for the next additions, give time to your tank adjust to every new bioload added.

Main points here are research and go slow. Good luck

Right now I have fish only. My granddaughter wants to add 2 anemones, not sure I can for 2 clowns fish I had in an old algae filled tank that I let get full of algae when I got sick but I am much better now! So I bought the 36 gal took the water and live rock from my disgusting tank new live sand, it actually looked pretty good been running 2 weeks. I have an LSU fish I call it purple & gold, 2 clowns, a red hawk I think they call him. He is bright red sits on rocks all the time. A snakey looking starfish all still alive. I do not know for how long someone told me it would not cycle doing it this way but I have read here it will. Soooo? I have HOB protein skimmer coming not here yet. I have a Fluval hang on the back filter with bio balls a sponge & carbon. The light is whatever came with the solid black plastic hood. Can't seem to find a glass top for it online. Just need a lot of advice.

Anemones- Yes and you can add up to (safely) 4-5 small fish such as Blennies, gobies and even a dwarf angel such as flame or coral beauty.
For anemones, allow tank to run and mature at least 4 months before considering anemones
