Got a new project. Got a 30 gallon shallow from dude on craiglist. Came with a flimsy stand so I built a new one

Careful on the removal of that frame it helps keep the glass from flexing. that looks like pretty thin glass....

After modding it with a gate valve and modding the new pumps impeller.

It a little dirty but a little elbow grease will fix that.

+1 a new 30 gallon rimless is a lot cheaper to pay for then the mess that will create when it explodes, even if you brace it it is still kind of scary.Looks like a fun project though good luck...:xd:

To play it safe I would eurobrace the top and/or bottom as well.
