Sounds like "popeye" which if it's on only one side is usually from trauma. I know some people treat it with epsom salts and/or antibiotics if the fish is in a QT. Do a search for popeye and I bet you can get a lot of information on how to treat it.

Turo, if you can get a picture of not just the eye, but a few different shots of the whole lion, that would be great.

That is popeye- eye infection. Being just one eye, like mentioned before it's probably from an injury. Provided the fish is healthy he should be able to fight it off on his own. However it can be treated with kanaplex - either dosed in the water in a QT or added to the food with the addition of Seachems Focus to bind it.

Actually, I didn't mean that as a question. (There is no way to type that and not sound snarky, but it's totally not meant that way) The other eye is also not as clear as it should be. It has an opaqueness to it.
Feed it well and keep the water nice and clean.

I would trust lionfish lair on this one. She would know better then most. If that's the case, then both eyes are showing signs of infection. The fish can go blind if not treated, so I would certainly try to get him in the QT with Kanaplex for 10 days straight.
You can go with Epsom salt in the DT to reduce the swelling and feed him the antibiotics with Focus as a binder, but it works faster/better when dosed in the water. Since it's not reef safe then this has to be done in the QT.

In that first pic that one eye totally looks like trauma as said and the fact it's a week old would go along with a netting injury.
Blue light picks up cloudiness that might otherwise be missed. It should almost look like there's not a globe over it.... clear as a marble. Can you see how the non-swollen one has a haze? Not as bad as the other, though.
I've done nothing and had them clear up. I've done nothing and had them lose an eye. I've done nothing and have had them die. o_O
