New salt mix for storage

Hi all thinking of trying out redsea coral pro salt for storage. But after mixing 17L of it to 1.025sg for about 8hrs the water turn blurry in colour. Is there any issue with the salt? By the way am using rodi water with 0 tds.

Every brand of salt has particles that don't dissolve and float to the top which is what you are seeing. Your filter system will remove them when you use it.

let it mix with pump and heater for at least 24hrs. watch the bulk reef supply video. each salt has a sweet spot mixing time. coral pro has high ca and alk and needs to be to temp. also has a lotta binders in it that leave a brown film in mixing containers

That salt will take at least 24 hours of mixing before it turns clear. Even after it turns clear, it will leave a residue coating the container. It's still safe to use. The key with having a storage container is to leave a small power head in there to keep it aerated and clear so it's ready for use when you need it.

Did you read the instructions? Coral Pro has very specific mixing instructions.

Yup i did allow it e circulate for 24 hrs it did clear up

The key with having a storage container is to leave a small power head in there to keep it aerated and clear so it's ready for use when you need it.

It did clear up after e next morning, i will monitor thru out 4-5 weeks and see how e parameters goes see weather can it still be use after 4-5 weeks of storage. Working offshore always 4-5 weeks wont be home to do a wc as i am keeping a sps dominant tank.

That salt has a maximum mixing time of no more than 4hrs listed on the bucket. I mixed 30 gallons to 35ppt today and it was clear in 30 minutes. I have let RSCP salt sit without heat or a powerhead for 48 hours and the water turned cloudy but cleared up great once it was in the tank running through the filter. It does precipitate though but this seems to be slowed with lower temp. I believe 68f is what is recommended.
