Here is my woodworking bench I made this winter. I put casters on each leg so I can move it and level if needed. They are rated at 2200 pounds per set of 4. They have beefier casters that take 3300 pounds per set. They have a built in ratchet that is super convenient

Nice setup, I'd do unspeakable things for that much shop space lol!

Sadly, it’s a yard shed first and wood shop second. All the crap was in the garage so I could build it. Now it’s tucked in the corner being used as a storage bench until I can get a new shed for all the yard stuff.

At that point, I hope it’s only a wood shop. Still small at only 240sf

It’s still not finished. Sanding is for the birds

I know what that's like. My area is something like 12'x16', but it's also our laundry room, as well as a storage area. One of these days I'll get it back in order lol!

Do you have any close ups of the frame or plans of how you put this together?

I am building a 36*24 stand soon and don’t want the old 2*4 go to for this one
IMG_1206.jpeg

We used clear 5/4x4 pine for the frame. It was pocket screwed together then coated with two coats of Kilz primer/sealer.

The frame was more complicated than strictly necessary because the stand was designed to hold a 75g then be capable of holding a 125g years later. For the most part it worked.

Nice job! Looks like walnut and red oak?
Thanks, it’s definately not my hobby lol. My dad had a wood working shop as a hobby/business for forever. After he passed he had a whole bunch of wood left over so I just wanted to build something with some of it, I honestly don’t enjoy woodworking personally. Yes it is red Oak ply board with solid oak supports with a mix of solid walnut (besides the 4x4 pieces I incorporated into the bottom to plant the feet in). He had a few walnut trees he had milled. The oak he used to just get so many board feet to keep on hand from the sawmill. If I didn’t have access to that wood I might of went aluminum. My tank is only 48”x24”

No plan just out of my head. I make rougher stuff like fences and decks could not afford tools to do furniture. Anyway mine as is my habit overkill maybe

but mine is 100 as well plus rock. Here is picture. However no matter what you do I am glad that I put plexiglass in the bottom. Makes cleaning salt creep easier and inevitable water spills as well
I mean, I never have a plan building anything that keeps it interesting lol

I buy mine off Amazon. I can’t remember what they cost but I think an average is about $75 for 4 of them. They are each rated for several hundred pounds.

Still would never attempt to move anything with a tank full of water but if you can remove at least half of the water they are invaluable. Some have a thumb screw to raise and lower the rubber foot. Needless to say that would be tough. Others have a nut you can turn with a thin wrench. Once in place the rubber feet lift the castor off the floor.

Than at tidal gardens. Uses them on every one of his systems.
When I had to move my tank luckily no coral emptied it halfway. The guy doing my basement had 4 18 by 18 by 1/4 metal dollies with 4 casters on each one. I used a car jack to raise it to slip them under. the wheels were about 3 inch which is the big factor in moving things. The main factor in a caster is the frame around the wheel. If it has a blot connection it will collapse hence why I like the ones you have. Info is for others I am sure you already know

took me a couple of years to plan my basement finishing from scratch. Our TV was there but I spent my time visualizing and the scratch that and start over. I was down to 1/4 ich leeway to fit everything in . closets bathroom bedroom ect. drew it on the concrete floor

For the structural support, length wise, does anyone know if I used 4x4s, if I could get away without center vertical braces?
I have always just used 3/4 hardwood plywood without any problems. My last tank was a peninsula tank around 175gals and 3/4 plywood was stronger than the floor in my house. After I filled it up I noticed the floor started at slope away from the wall by about 1/4 in 5foot. I ended up jacking the floor up to level it.

Awesome looking stand! I like the idea of using the easy leveling feet.
