Hey guys!

So i got my 20 Long up and running

It has a 7 gallon custom fuge in the back, (which i packed with LRR and some chaeto)

There is a growth, looks like algae or cyano that grows on the glass and eggcrates and frag plugs. Then on some of the frags that i have, there is Hair Algae and its spreading pretty fast....

Do you guys have tips on how to get rid of the cyano (its not really red, more of a brown filmy thing), and the HA?

thanks :D

I usually take a tooth brush and scrub it off then take some fresh made water and swish it around......I don't know why these frag plug seem to attract PITA algae. They are supposed to be inert but the algae seems to find them with out issue.....

I fought this algae bloom about a month ago but now my tank is cleared up from it.. the only thing my friend did to the tank was replace the carbon in the bag I have in the sump.. no water change.. can you believe that? I really believe that the tank was able to stablize itself... I'm quite confident that the death of a couple of margarita snails sparked the algae bloom...

but in your case, I think the tank is just going through a slight cycling... just be consistent with your water changes and take out as much algae as you can take out..

good luck man...
