Hello,
I have been in the reefkeeping hobby for about 14 months now and will be moving soon to my new house in the next 4 months. I started a plan on how to utilize my current fish tanks to make a larger reef in my new house.
Right now I own a 37G tank with a 20G Long Sump which have been housing mostly LPS and zoas and some Montis. I have success and will like to make an upgrade once I move to the new house.
So this is my plan, I have a 50G Breeder (36"Lx18"Wx18"H) which I will house LPS which will have a 3 sided view and a 40G Breeder tank (36"Lx18"Wx16"H) which I will house SPS placed perpendicular to the 50G tank forming a peninsula (L Shape).
I hope I haven't confused anyone yet, lol. Under neath the 50G tank I will house my 20G Long Sump (which I already have) and a 5.5G (16"Lx10"Wx10"H) refugium. The 50G will use my old lifereef overflow box (1" Drain) and will Tee off to feed my refugium (which is placed behind the sump) and then into the first chamber of the skimmer. The 40G will use a glassholes overflow box with 1.5"Drains which will directly drain into the first chamber of the sump.
The first chamber will just be filter socks and drain pipes, along with two heaters. In the second chamber we will will have my current MSX160 Skimmer which leads to three baffles to the third chamber which will house a Eheim 1262 for the return (or Eheim 1260). I'm not sure which one i should opt for.
The return line will be split into three lines which feeds the manifold (which will eventually feed my frag tank [Plan is to have a 24"L x 18"W x 14"H]), the 40G breeder and the 50G Breeder.
See the attached picture I drew in PAINT (don't laugh).
