Hello crew,

It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I am putting together a new Nano Reef. I have a Kessil Tuna Blue A80 on the Tideline 11g AIO Cube. I am using colored dry rock and Ocean Direct Original Grade sand. Additionally for the cycle I have chosen a fishless cycle by adding ammonia and bacterial cultures. Let me know what coral you think I should add first after the cycle!

You can start with easier coral: Candy canes, toadstools, mushrooms, and zoas; or go with fish such as gobies or clowns!.

I really like soft corals for their role in utilizing nitrates. If my store has any zoa rocks I'd pick one up sooner than later. In the future though I want some hammers or frogspawn.

Can anyone recommend a good wavemaker and protein skimmer for this build? Don't want to break the bank on an AI Nero 3 though so something more affordable.

I use this in my 14gal nano. 3 flow patterns: steady, one that ramps up and back down and finally a more random kind of flow. Good luck with your build :smiling-face-with-sunglasses:

Update:

May possibly pick up some soft corals this weekend. I am upgrading the stock pump to a Syncra .5 and adding an AI Nero 3 to up my flow game
What kind of soft coral are you looking at?

Update:

I got some pulsing Xenia and a nice green ricordia mushroom. I also picked up a candy cane pistol shrimp. Will send pics of the coral once it opens up!

Welp the Xenia frag died and was removed from my tank. The ricordia looks amazing on the bright side! Hoping to get a gold hammer soon. Also in the market for some designer clowns, perhaps a storm variety

hey! we have the same tank, recommend switching out the pump for a way smaller one tho, 200gph is too much, I went with this: Amazon product
its perfect, its adjustable to!
