And do I fill up the water in the display to go over the overflow box first or fill up the sump and turn on the equipment first?

Add 11 gallons to your sump, put a piece of tape on the glass to mark your water level of your sump.

Turn on return pump, let it run a bit and adjust your gate valve so the return is quiet.

Once water is stabilized add more water to sump so it's at the 11 gallon mark

Give your skimmer a vinegar bath before you turn it on in tank. Let it run in a bucket in white vinegar for a day. It will help the skimmer in break in process. Your skimmer will go crazy if you don’t give it a vinegar bath

I am just going to fill the display up until it goes down the overflow into the sump and fill the sump about 3/4 full. Then I will turn the dc pump on. Then whats after that?

Alright I filled the tank up this high and the sump is not wet. The pump has not been turned on yet and neither has the skimmer, heater, etc. What do I do now?

Take the plastic cover off the overflow. Water needs to fill up to the point where it starts going down the overflow tube then it will start pouring into the sump

Alright I just took the plastic cover off and filled up more. I heard a pouring sound and water poured down to only the back right section of the sump. Here are some pictures. Do I keep filling up until the water line until that chamber gets higher?? Or do I fill up the rest of the sump now??

This is what I have so far. I ran out of saltwater and need to go get more. Will 10 more gallons do the trick?
