New UNS R90

Hello Reefers,

Our names are John and Vera, and we're about to embark on a new tank build. We're going with a UNS R90 for our tank, sump, and stand. The plan is to do the big unboxing, setup, and get water in it all together over the Thanksgiving holiday, then let it cycle.

We'll be sure to post our equipment list and pics as things start coming together. Looking forward to posting more and getting acquainted with some of you. We've been lurking and learning a lot for a while now, and I'm sure we'll have lots of questions along the way.

Hello Everyone!

The tank has been running since Thanksgiving and is doing great. Here’s a pic “under the hood”.

I’m running Hydros controller, Sicce SDC 7.0 return pump, 2 x MP40s for flow, Ecotech Radions and AI Blades for light, a Deltec 400i dc skimmer, Reef Factory roller filter, IM dual probe heater, Aqua UV Sterilizer, etc. Outside of the stand to the right, I have a 10gal ATO reservoir and a BRS media reactor mounted on the wall where I can run things like carbon or GFO in. I’ll post a pic of up top soon, and thanks for checking it out!

Sorry for the late reply! That's actually the 57 watt. Happy to share more about my plumbing. Basically, it has the option to add a manifold onto it but you'll need either metric pipe and fittings or a conversion coupling of some kind. You can buy blue pipe and schedulae 80 fittings if you want to keep things matching which I did. I am actually running the UV and a small BRS mini reactor off the manifold that Im running a little GFO/carbon in.

Hey Yall! I’ll add some more info! Heres a pic of the side cabinet opened up.

Im running this tank on the Hydros platform. Running the Hydros X4/XP8 combo along with the Hydros Blenny for dosing and additional control.

The other controls you see are the controller for the UNS refugium light and the Deltec 400i dc Skimmer.

The dosing system I’m using is Not a Feesh 2-Part. It’s a true “All in 2” system and utilizes Sodium Hydroxide as the Alkalinity component which gives a nice lift to pH. It is corrosive so care must be taken to store it in appropriate containers. The ones you see in the picture are 2 liter and made of HDPE.

The 3rd bottle you see is ammonia bicarbonate/urea that I auto dose to keep my nitrates stable and where they need to be. Corals seem to love it too!
