Hopefully everything will be alright. Not saltwater related but wish me luck guys and gals returned home to find my 75g freshwater tank to be at 92° due to a heater failure being stuck on. Have the tank temp dropped back to normal temp and my backup heater installed. Crossing fingers I don't lose anything. One fish my iridescent shark I have had for 13 years and my koi is only 5 years old
So far so good. Been a couple hours and everything is still alive. Staying close to the bottom and not swimming much. Their gills are moving good but still acting really stressed which is to be expected. Here is a picture of the tank. It's a little bit dirty this was just after cleaning the gravelHopefully everything will be alright.
Have you tried aiming a powerhead towards the surface to cause turbulence and thus increase oxygen in tank.So far so good. Been a couple hours and everything is still alive. I have not. On the left side of the tank I have a 12" air Stone fed by a dual pumps. A couple years ago I had a huge issue with green water and found out I had high co2 levels. Local fish store suggested large bubble stone to see if it would help. Did a water change and installed the stone and the green water never returned and the co2 levels are in whatever the normal range is the guy who tested the water at the store said. I have always had a circulation pump in the tank but never pointed it up to aid in gas exchange although it would likely work better than the stone.Have you tried aiming a powerhead towards the surface to cause turbulence and thus increase oxygen in tank.
