i picked up a 29gal biocube for my son. Is there an led unit I can mount in the hood? Thanks

RapidLed has DIY kits for the 29 biocubes. They also have the solderless kits now so you don't have to weld the units together, you just plug accordingly to the instructions. The lights were strong enough to grow anything you wanted. I'd recommend getting the dimmable kit, that way you don't bleach corals.
 
Rapidled retrofit is the only one i can think of.
Think about the heating related issues before you end up modding the hood. I went with nuking the hood altogether and get kessil. It also made accessing the backchember for media easier.
 
I did the RapidLED solderless kit with blue fish controller.
Yes it is powerful and will kill everything if you turn it up to eleven!
Very nice kit, easy to install. A Dremel helps a lot.

Using the Neptune PAR meter I tuned the lights so that Blue channel + White channel = a total of 70% and you can grow SPS and anything else you want.
