Hello Reef 2 Reef Members.
I just wanted to introduce myself. Brand new to hobby but feel like I have watched days of YouTube videos and read a lot of blog post on here about starting my aquarium. Starting w/ a 65 gallon / 15 gallon sump. Will try to start my build post today of what I set up so far. Hope you all stay tuned in.

Welcome! Glad you joined. Everyone here was new once, so you fit right in!

Glad you are considering starting your build thread. I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread under Forum > Member Aquariums and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in San Diego:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Below is the info and links they gave me when I was new. You have already done the harder step 1 portion. when you do step 2, your Build Thread Contributor Badge (look left) shows up automatically and typically pretty fast.

One fun way to learn from others and keep a record of your reef aquarium is to create your very own build thread! A build thread is just a thread that tells us about your aquarium and might include photos. You can create your build thread in one of these forums. MEMBER'S AQUARIUMS

Once you have created a build thread then you can get your VERY FIRST USER BADGE! YAY! It's easy to do and I have created a thread that tells you how to do it here: BUILD THREAD BADGE

You've done the hard part of creating your Build Thread badge. If you've tried attaching it in your account but badge isn't showing up, then try taking off that last bit starting #post - example - use this for yourself instead:

If 'attaching it in your account' seems like Greek - then here is the info and link they gave me when I was new:
