I think this weekend I am going to swap my 60 Gallon from FW to SW! :)

My plan is to get sand, a mix of live and dry rock, and RO/DI water from my LFS and begin cycling (after a good tank/filter cleaning).
I would like a 10 gallon quarantine tank....questions....if I put a couple of chunks of live rock in the QT the same time as I start to cycle the 60 with live and dry rock....would the 10 gallon cycle faster...allowing me to begin a quarantine of 2 clown fish before the 60 cycles? Then when the 60 is ready and the quarantine complete...transfer the fish and LR.

QT--tank, light, heater, filter, some form of hood/screen, and pcv for hiding places...correct?

Welcome to r2r!

I wouldn’t use live rock in a quarantine tank, instead use a sponge filter or hob filter with sponge in it and seed the qt with bacteria in a bottle.
