Wow, that is one way to start into this hobby! Congrats one several things. The beautiful tank, starting slow and letting the tank mature, and the beautiful look you have created.

As far as advice, thus far it looks sharp and you didnt rush it. Thats the big thing up front.

Thank you, I started by finding a great shop in Stockholm and the personell has been great in guiding me in the start up. Then all of you amazing people everywhere on the internet has made a great addition in helping me to where I am today. I'm looking forward to seeing everything grow and off course when we'll get all the fish and everything else living in our tank[emoji847]

I've realized that and are trying to be prepered for it, hopefully it goes well[emoji4]
I’d say your next real challenge will in fact come with the addition of fish—with the potential to greatly impact your water quality. That will take the same amount of patience and good judgment you have shown so far...

We have this in our tank and my wife thinks that it has moved a bit, does anyone know what it might be?

That’s weird looking. Hopefully some one will know! I can’t tell from the photo— does it look at all “sponge”-like?

Very nice. What are you doing for alk/cal supplement? You already got quite a bit of alk-sucking SPS in there.
Hi @sawdonkey , I wonder if you could answer a question: As you said, I have a great deal of SPS in my tank. I've been giving my tank 15ml of Phytoplancton twice a week for a while now and when the SPS started to show signs of life I bought Aquaforest Pure food for them and started giving it once a week. Do you think that I should extend the feeding of Pure food so that I'll give it twice a week to? Or should I perhaps extend the giving of all food and give it more times a week?
Best regards
Peter

It’s not absolutely necessary to directly feed your SPS. I simply feed my fish, and they “feed” my SPS corals. The corals pick up the uneaten and decomposing food as well as the fish poo. If I’m feeling ambitious, I’ll feed my corals some reef chili now and then, but don’t think about it too much, and honestly, I cannot remember the last time I did this.

In my opinion, feeding your coral isn’t in the top five most important things to keeping SPS. Maybe not even top ten. Some people here might disagree.

Thanks for your answer. I'll hopefully get at least 12 more fish in a few weeks and we'll start the next chapter in our reef keeping and then the SPSs will start growing even more. I'm so looking forward to that[emoji847]

Soon my tank will explode of life, today a sent a message to my dealer that we are ready for more living creatures now, so the order is in for:
  • 10 Chromis viridis
  • 2 Stenopus hispidus
  • 1 Heteractis magnifica
  • 2 Amphiprion ocellaris
  • 1 Lysmata ambionensis
  • 1 Lybia tesselata
  • 1 Diadema sp.
And some type of soft coral to place on a rock at the bottom of the tank, my dealer may "decide" which one it's going to be, I have the greatest confidence in him ;Happy

The rest of the living creatures that we are planning for is:
  • 1 Parachantus hepatus
  • 3 Astropecten polycanthus
  • 1 Centropyge bispinosus
  • 3 Nemateleotris magnifica
  • 3 Nemateleotris decora
  • 1 Centropyge loricula
  • 1 Zebrasoma flavescens
  • 2Pterosynchiropus splendidus
I'm so looking forward to seeing our tank come to life for real.

How about a splash of color there— like a red cabbage leather, or one of the leathers that are yellow in color; they could lay on the sand bed right there and grow upward :) (Won’t really ‘sway’ though...)
I went for an Euphyllia, I think it will be great[emoji847]

Finally after more then six months of planning, thinking and trying to do all the right steps, the time has come to really start populating our tank.
This is the ones in our list that the dealer had in stock, the rest will he get in a week or to.
We also got three different types of Zoas that hopefully will take over the little island I've created in one of the corners.

Today my wife and I took a trip to a store, it didn't end well for my wallet[emoji849] so now we'll say velcome to a Diadema.sp and a Paracanthus hepatus. And as we was at it we also bought a UV-C filter.

"She's" been with us less then a week but it looks like "she" is doing alright, nothing like the two clows that still stays in the waterline in a corner almost all the time.
And "she's" so litle (2") and cute and has already done a lot of good.

I haven’t had too many clowns, so others will know better than me, but some do seem to prefer the top of the tank. Maybe not a bad thing— because stocking a tank with top, middle, and bottom dwellers can work nicely.
