Hey guys, so im running the nicer HyperReef 50W on my 15g and have it set at a lower setting currently (peak 20% blue and 5% white). currently only have zoos and an ultra chalice. plan on adding a biota mt dew toadstool in the middle section in the next week. I was just curious as to what you guys are running for lighting schedule with the 50W and the controller!

You will get varying opinions to this question, Fish will easily adapt to what ever schedule you run, but the coral require the light for nutrients. Your on off times can be adjusted so the tank has light when you are most likely to be viewing it. My tank lights come on at 10 am and go off at 8 pm at the moment. Making your changes gradually is best for the tank. Some folks run 12/12, I am running a slightly reduced time due to a dino outbreak I am working my way out of.

Turn the lights up, 20% is like a candle lol, the corals will fade away...... I have AI Prime on my 15 gallon, its a 55 watt light, its set at 70% for soft and lps corals, I run it 12 hours a day. I would jack your light up to 50% and then slowly ramp it up to about 70% ish, but don't keep it so low or the corals will eventually die

perfect thank you! I was figuring it was too low. I just wasn't sure about the intensity on this light and couldn't find in depth forums on it.

thanks for the response! I keep all my tanks in the basement so it's always dark for the most part and have my lights come on at noon and off at 10pm. have 1hr ramp up and ramp down
