The nice dispatcher from SAIA saw the email from the person that I spoke to, and she was nice enough to call me. I spoke with the driver, and they got it figured out after trying to contact me for hours by an incorrect phone number. The driver will be here with it in about an hour. Let's just hope there is nothing wrong with the crate's contents. Although, why not add one more delay to the process. :rolleyes:

It did come!

There was some damage to the stand’s box, but the stand was okay. I did notice that the stand has some quality issues, such as some missing paint, small chips, and they used (likely permanent) marker to color in some of the edges, which you can see in the photos below.

Also, I started watching the cabinet assembly instructions on YouTube, and there is a discrepancy between some of their parts and mine. They show holes for cam screws and wooden pegs, but my boards have only holes for cam screws. The holes that they show for wooden pegs don’t have the plastic insert like mine do, which are the holes for wooden pegs. I reached out to them for clarification.

Other than that, everything looks to be in good shape! I’ll continue assembling my stand after I hear back from Waterbox about the board holes.

I heard back from Waterbox, and my parts are the updated parts; they use cam screws where the wooden pegs are in the video. I am working from home today, and the stand is unassembled, next to me, tempting me to work on it. However, I need to get some things done for work today, so I will be jumping over to the stand immediately after work.

I have to say that the stand panels are heavy and solid; I don't have any worry about long-term usage with it. It's also a nice sight to see two glass boxes (display & sump) after such a long wait. I am ready to start dry-fitting everything and make a plan for plumbing.

Thanks! It's been a long wait, but I was giddy last night after getting things unboxed. I can't wait to get the tank on the stand and start piecing everything in.

I think that will be what I do at first. I have seen some acrylic lids made by companies, and they are expensive. However, I am not much of a do-it-yourself person. I will see how it turns out before I decide to drop a bunch of money on something that might look nicer, though.

I finally got my stand assembled and the sump in, both of which are surprisingly heavy. Now, I’m trying to arrange my equipment so that I can plan the plumbing.

What I’m struggling with is the UV sterilizer. I want to plumb a manifold, but I’m having difficulty finding a good spot for the UV sterilizer. I don’t want to mount it to the top of the inside of the stand; it takes up a decent amount of space, which would make maintenance more challenging. I like it off to the side of the sump, which you can see in the attached photo. However, it seems like the plumbing would need to be more complex than what I’d prefer.

This will be the first time that I’ve plumbed anything, so I’d love some advice.

I would like to have an algae reactor in the future, if needed, so I want to have the ability to tap into a manifold.

If you have any tips, suggestion, recommendation, or photos to share, then I will be greatly appreciative.

I put my UV in a cabinet next to the stand. I plumbed in the return. If you do the same be prepared for a large decrease in GPH. Best I could get was 400 with an oversized return pump.

I have a COR-15 for the return pump, so I’m wondering if I should pick up another and use that as a dedicated manifold pump. Although, I don’t mind having a lower turnover rate through the sump, so it may be sufficient to plumb it into the return.

I started with a COR 15 and all I was able to get was 290 gph. I ended up buying a cheap DC pump on Amazon for 100 bucks. It works great. All I did was buy a second for a back up. Since it is only used as a return pump, I didn’t need the features the COR 15 offers. I still have it though as I see a second tank in my future [emoji3]

I am guessing the dry rock was the cause of the high need for alkalinity, as it is the only reason I came up with. I also noticed other posts that came to the same conclusion. I used Marco rocks. What did you get?

I have some MarinePure cycling, and it’s been in a tub with a piece of live rock from a local shop for a few months. If you look at my first post in this thread, then you’ll see some detailed photos of my display structure. I have a couple more pieces coming that will make good dens for my two wrasses.

Love it man, the dens were a great idea, gives it more visual depth as well. What are ur plans for the bare bottom? Chalices, leptospirosis, cyphastreas?
