Bought new? Or used?
I assume live rock and bagged live sand? You should really rinse any sand before it goes into your tank.
If the sand bed and rocks are harboring nitrates that could be the issue.

...did you ever share the gallon size of the tank? And a complete stock list?

If you pick up a handful of sand off the bottom of the tank and let it fall thru your fingers back to the sandbed, does it cloud up? Or is the water still clear?

I have reached the only conclusion on this issue. I appreciate everyone's support. Kind , Knowledgeable, and understanding. I'm not leaving the forum. I'm just down to my last attempt to try something. The possibility that 3 Test Kits could give me 3 false results. That like one in a billion, but possible. So here I will do a poll with yes or know, before I do this because every member has tried to he and truly appreciate every bit of advice you have given. Before I end this and put up the poll. This maybe funny but this was something that actually looked some else. Now only coming back to Reef Tanks I don't want many fish. I like soft coral and especially Green Mushroom Leather. Anyway I made an order. Well it arrived and what I saw scared the hell out of because I never seen. So I'm looking at this beast and I had to call the seller to find out what this is thing I ordered. He said it is a Sally Lightfoot, I know your laughing it's funny , but in my eyes freaked out. It's body without the legs and I kid you not. The body was the size of a quarter. That's pretty big. I'm a retired Exotic Animal Specialist and should not been freak out. Working in the National Zoo with mostly Poisonous Snakes and the Big Cats. This was a whole new experience for me. If you haven't seen it or have on you tube, and type Elephants Getting Drunk. It's the funniest thing to watching the Macaque Monkey stole the show. Anyway got off track again sorry. If you put an Abdomen you could call it the underwater Camel Spider. Looks just like one. So again I appreciate all the help and advice given. So A or B. This is the last ditch effort. Should I try Bio Pellets? I don't know how to start a poll I guess I will learn or some help. Should I Try Bio Pellets? A) Yes B) No
I really hope you find your answer to your troubles. I can see how this can be disheartening. I think if you can continue to answer questions and provide as much info as possible the experienced members here will be able to point you in the right direction.

On a side note I have a Sally in my tank and I think it's an entertaining member of the reef. Have had no issues with it

It may be your rock. Does a bunch of crap come out if you were to push some flow thru the pores as with a turkey baster or coral feeder? May be beneficial to really go to town rinsing the rock.
What i would do is fill up a rubbermaid bin with tank water, enough to submerge your rocks. And use a powerhead/pump or turkey baster and clean the living daylights out of the crevices. Even after you rise the rock good there will be so much stuff still inside those rocks that could be contributing to the nitrate issue and can be addressed by additional cleanings depending on how bad it is.

I think that's what some may be getting at. This rock could be saturated with nutrients
So you are saying what. I will Drop dead if it's bad. A friend told me to put pulsing xenia in the sump because it had nutrients.

Ok so you rinsed sand before you put into the tank? Good.
Doesnt sound like the rock work was rinsed tho unless you did. Without knowing more info that was asked of you earlier we cant make any conclusions other than whats already been made.

So was it dry rock? Or live rock that dried out? That may be your issue if it was liverock that dried out. Everything that was alive in those rocks besides maybe some encysted parasites is dead. If you didnt get all of the nutrients out of the rock before cycling the tank, this is absolutely your nitrate issue.
Also the 4ppm DI is contributing a little tiny bit most likely.

It had growth, but why he put it in barely wet was something I would never do. He came once to check on Nitrates. He lied and every is fine. It hurts because I taken advantage of, but my will and members here are helping me the best way they can. I. Very grateful for that. dang I got played a fool.

Just clean it and dont worry about it. No big deal. Thats what you risk when buying used things. And dont make any irrational decisions until you verify the rock work is the source. Always rely on yourself and your own instincts.

I did buy pure cured lr guess that's what it is called. Has been treated so no bad things are on it. He calls it Base Rock because he sawed the bottom off each Rock.

I can see your pic just fine. Its blurry for sure as it low resolution .

Anyways, your tank looks fine, besides the high nitrate ..... what problems are you having? Algae? Coral looks bad? Fish not acting normal ?
