No lenses on t247 question...

With the lenses being about 1/2", if I were to run no lenses, would alot of light be lost behind the housing? Since their not like a black box with the glass in front of lenses.
 
Yea. A lot would be lost.
A cheap lux meter will tell you how much.
 
I left them on. I was swapping out some leds and just wondered if it would get rid of how "spot lighty" they are but I dont want to lose any light.
 
You could play with some diffusion I suppose. Look for the very thinnest you can find.
The thinnest cheapest I found was actually “clear “ shelf paper.
 
I never thought about removing lenses for s 247 it’s usually for vispars and Mars Aqua [emoji848]
 
Try diffusing it with a piece of frosted acrylic. I was going to use t247s but didn’t want to build a diffuser for them.
