Hello,

So had Dino a while back, used Dino X never came back 0 losses life saver product. Anyways, I had nitrates at 3ppm after Dino for over a month. Now it’s 0 (no Dino thank the good lord). However, I’m wondering why my system is so low nutrients? I just does neonitro and neophos but still I can’t figure out why my system never has nutrients. Is it that the corals are using it all? It’s a small system 30 gallons and lots of soft corals and a few LPS.

I feed my fish once a day frozen foods only. I’m sure this is part of the issue. But, coming from freshwater I always feed once a day as it’s beneficial for the aquarium.

Next question here is, if I’m replacing magnesium, calcium, strontium and iodide throughout the week, and nitrate is at 0 and phos 0 (or very low) so I need to worry about a water change? I use seachem vibrant sea salt mix and it’s high in potassium so I’m sure the potassium will still be fine without topping it off.

Any ideas?

Well apparently the biota are consuming the N03 and P04 as fast as it's being produced. Other than maintaining alkalinity, a water change isn't really necessary right now. Maybe increase your fish numbers and feel free to " over feed" as long as you trust your testing.

Fish in nature probably eat all day long. Your fish might be underfed. Your system in general might be underfed at this point.

That’s what I am worried about. They are growing like crazy though. So I’ll try increasing to twice a day feedings and not changing filter sock every week.
