The dry rock is soaking it up. I would start to dose NeoNitro and NeoPhos to get the N03 and P04 above 0.

Yeah, I'm dosing nitrate and phosphates for the first time ever. It feels weird and against everything I learned a long time ago.

Keep me updated. How are you dosing alk/calc now?
Just 2 part by hand at the moment.

I actually am dosing nitrate and phosphate. It feels weird and against everything I learned a long time ago.
I was going thru a ton of both trying to raise my N03 and P04 to fight Dinos shortly after my tank upgrade.

Dinos seem like a really common problem now.
What product are you using to dose nitrate/phosphate?
I'm using ME coral products for all dosing right now. That's what my lfs carries.

Did it eventually start to rise after dinos? I don't know if I just never paid attention to nutrients so much after cycle or what, but I can't ever remember having this problem. Is it the dry rock thats causing this?

Dry rock is a major contributing factor. It soaks up N03 and P04. Eventually I was able on get both to rise.

Went to the Dallas frag swap this weekend and picked up a bunch of sps. I got some really good pieces from raising reefs. Orange crush, fox flame, Greg's unicorn, Walt Disney, Hawkins, red dragon, and rainbow mille, pinky the bear, pink Cadillac, solar flare mille, garf bonsai.

My wife picked out this amazing purple tang from our lfs, prestige worldwide. I also got 5 lyretail anthias. I failed somewhere in my qt process, probably from not quaranting corals, and ich is now present in my tank. Going to get a uv sterilizer and try the ich management approach.

I've been in a straight up war with dinos and cyano this last month. Think the tides are finally turning in my favor though.
