My personal opinion is good Husbantry.and maintaining low nutrients in the system. If the system is not maintained properly I would recommend A lawnmower blenny and Turbo snails.

I would have to agree with the Mexican turbo and Kole Tang crowd. 3 turbos completely eliminated a tank full of red turf algae in less than a day. None of my other snails could do that including my team of giant trochuses, nor my 3 urchins.

Turbo and Foxface Lo or Turbo and Kole Tang.

My only issue with Kole Tangs, which is my favorite fish because of their quirky shy personality, is that they tend to be shy. The Foxface will at, some point, just eat out of your hand...and not stop eating. And I've seen my Foxface chomp down bubble algae and every other algae I've every had. I have not seen my Kole tangs touch bubble-algae.

Happy Reefing!!!

Trochus snail and bristletooth tang (stomatella is barely edged out by trochus).

Since it is fish and snail
For fish has to be my Yellow Tang who eats bubble algae
and Mexican Turbo for snail.

Perfect pair, if i could add and emerald crab to the mix it would be a great trio!
I having pretty good success with my Yellow & Powder Brown Tangs combined with my emerald crabs (these crabs are like a professional landscaping crew).

Gold Rim tang and banded trochus.

I recently took my Gold Rim out of my DT for a few weeks to introduce another tang. My tank has almost no algae but my over flow is full of GHA and bubble algae. After a few weeks the tank I moved him to (which had a lot of algae) is pristine and the bubble algae was making a significant comeback in my DT.

After only 10 days the DT is looking back to it's old self!

Banded trochus because they reproduce well in my tank, can right themselves if they fall over and eat lots of algae.

Control nutrients with Reverse Daylight Photosynthesis/Chaeto and algae control is pretty much a non-issue. But, to answer the question, I prefer Astraea snails (they reproduce like crazy in my tank) and a Foxface.

Turbo snail and yellow eyed Kole although the snail is like a bulldozer and the tang is a prick. They both work hard

My favorite combo is a foxface and turbo snails. Or Tang Gang and astrea snails. Or for smaller tanks Lawnmower blenny and turbo snails.
