Hello reefers, I’m wondering how hard nps corals are to care for, and what the care requirements are for specifically the yellow finger Gorgonians. Thanks in advance!

I have never had good lasting luck with nps like this. The "lps" nps I have had great luck with they are much easier to feed. When I say lps types I mean dendro, sun corals, rhizos. The type you are looking at need almost constant feeding. Rotifers work well for some.

Ahh. I see, so if I went with sun coral instead…what do they eat?

Since they are nps, They don’t need any sort of fancy 300 par light correct?…just a cheap led light will be sufficient right?

I though NPS is non-photosynthetic?
So they dont really need light at all...I have one in my sump that is still alive lol

Yeah, nps is non-photosynthetic. To me the idea of that sounds weird and intriguing at the same time! Lol! Mostly because I just recently learned they were a thing and was like “Ahhh!!! I need one! But that sounds way too good to be true!” But I think it’ll be an interesting addition to my tank!!!

I had a single 48" actinic T5 over my 90g nps tank. That was just for my viewing pleasure. No light needed but something low watt in the deep blue range will make them pop and doest seem to cause them to close up like white light does.
