Decided to start a build thread for my new to me IM Nuvo 16. This will be my first nano tank, I am super excited for this build. This tank will be primarily LPS focused on acans, I am planing on having a zoa garden and possibly a GSP island. I plan on adding a few SPS down the road.

EQUIPMENT
Tank: IM Nuvo 16

Light: Radion XR30 gen 2 pro (way overkill I know but I got a great deal on the light)
Heater: 75w Cobalt Neo-Therm
ATO: Tunze 3152 nano
Power Head: for now a Jaebo I have laying around. I am trying to decide between a MP10 and one of the new Icecap gyre 1k’s. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That’s it for now besides a few pictures of the clean up process.

Thanks, I got it setup on the tank last night and started playing around with the programming and really love the light so far.

I've got a friend who bought the Radion diffuser plate and he really loves that accessory.

Just got the aquascaping done, sand in and filled it with water, here is the customary cloudy water shot.

Well,
It sure fits the bookcase like a glove.

Hey be super careful with the tank as far as structural integrity. I set up a old nuvo 16 i had in storage in november and it cracked next to the curved corner.

I googled it and it was a pretty significant problem with that tank. I don't intend to scare you or anything just want you to be aware of it.

Thanks for the heads up I did hear about this problem so I did a lot of research prior to buying it and found this is the second generation model with thicker glass and doesn’t seem to have the same problems the first generation did.

Yes I have been wanting to put a nano tank here since we moved in. Got lucky when the wife and I were at a friends house that has a tank on there bookcase and she said we should do that. She didn’t have to say anymore, bought the tank the next day.

I ordered the diffuser from BRS today, I think I will run it for little bit before I put it on so I can compare it on such a small tank, I might not need it.

I’ve got a 1st generation Nuvo 16 going on 7-8 years now. I’m still nervous, lol.

Your setup looks great so far.

Here are a few pictures after the water cleared up. I am thinking I should make both structures taller, any thoughts?

I added a few pieces of rock to make both structures a little taller. Any thoughts would be appreciated I really don’t like aquascaping.

Both structures look great! I like the taller one. Looks like it'll give a little more space for corals especially on the left rock

The top picture is cool shot. It'll be exciting to see how the tank looks with the corals you mentioned for it

Well I haven’t updated this in awhile, added a few inhabitants, no coral yet but I have a bunch on a frag rack in my other tank waiting for this tank.
