Update: vibrant is doing well and there is less algae I will keep on dosing it. All 11 fish are doing great I think that after a year with each I will make a decision on the two tangs and the 5 chromis as they are the only fish I may not want longterm. I do think I could have more fish as even with the algae die off I still have low nitrates. Maybe some smaller gobies but I am worried about my emerald crabs or my diamond watchman goby and good small gobies such as (shrimp gobies, dartfish (not gobies Ik), neon, and clown) could work? All corals are doing well I think due to the algae being beaten back I will focus on getting more coral and anemones in since the algae is being beaten back before adding more fish. I will also consider a pair of cleaner shrimp.

My coral beauty and diamond watchman goby plus my larger clown jus seem to kill every coral. If it is on the lower half of the tank then the goby gets it if not then the coral beauty picks it to death. If high up and two small to be picked at then the larger clown tries to host it and kills it.

I heard from @Paul B that quite a few native NY species of inverts can be kept on a reef tank in this case mostly grass shrimp. This may be worth a try. I do have cleaner shrimp however. My tank is low on biodiversity and struggles due to having a ton of fish including some that eat corals and having few inverts.

This tank is slowly recovering. My hope is since I am down to one fish that I can keep eventually begin keeping corals again after the crash. Keeping the lights low and feeding small amounts have kept the wrasse and apparently a few shrimp alive. The hair algae appears weak and is not growing. Soon I will consider my next move which will likely be removing the algae maybe with a turkey baster since with a smaller pippete it comes off.

Lights back on. Algae is growing again. With only one fish with minimal feeding, I question how fast it can grow...I will pull some hair algae manually soon.
