My NY Knicks torch spawned this afternoon! 😮 I've only had it about 4 weeks. I've managed to hoover a fair few eggs up and have them in a container with a few small holes in floating at the edge of the tank. I'd love to get them to grow but don't really know how to give them the best chance.

If anyone has any experience with euphyllia spawn and could give me some pointers that would be great. My current plan is to just keep them in low flow/low light and hope they settle on some live rock as I don't have any seasoned frag plugs. Any chance this will work? Thanks PXL_20260304_114129641.MP.jpg PXL_20260304_114136283.MP.jpg

That is really good news! Do you happen to have a picture of the eggs?
Given the fact that the torch is new to your tank, I’m curious if they are in fact eggs

Awesome, thanks. I've only had the tank about 6 weeks and managed to catch this purely by fluke as I was working from home today waiting for some corals to arrive. I didn't manage to get the title of the post to work properly though! 😂

I'll try to get some and upload them but I don't think they'll come out well. They are tiny white dots. I'm pretty sure they are but there isn't much info around about it. It has happened right on the new moon phase of the lights

Hmmm. Egg release only, or sperm too? I can't tell you what to expect or what to do, but I sure am interested in hearing more about how this unfolds. I had a pocillipora that would regularly spawn with what, eventually, became nuisance colonies popping up EVERYWHERE. Not necessarily a bad problem.

that's cool. Did you attribute the spawning to anything that you were doing with the tank? roughly how often do you think this would happen?

It was eggs only, but from what I've read, Euphyllia tend to release fertilised eggs so there's no mixing of gametes in the water column required.
