Howdy,

I thought I had my skimmer tuned but I definitely do not.

I have since added some more fish in last 2 months and can't get this skimmer tuned right.

It keeps overflowing the cup, not matter what I do eventually it does.

It's in recommended amount of water on a little pedestal.

Here's the current bubbles

Turn the water flow into the skimmer down until the bubbles only reach into the neck of the skimmer just below the cup. Keep doing this, turning the flow up and down as needed, until the skimmate is to your liking. It’s not unusual for your skimmer to be working harder after adding new fish, don’t be too worried.

So the bubbles into the photo should be raised or lowered ?

Lowered. You want them to be in the top of neck of the skimmer proper, so that only the nasty junk coagulates and is pushed up and into the cup, for normal operating conditions

Do you have a photo of what it should look like? Most others show photos with the smaller bubbles higher in the neck but then it's a power jet of water out the top of the neck

Looks pretty good! As long as the cup isn’t filling too fast, you don’t wanna have to be emptying it constantly

It's every 4 ish days.

But all I read says the bubbles should be higher in the neck, but this seems to be producing good stinky skimmate
