Odd display

Tropical fish swim around an art installation in the aquarium of Schoenbrunn zoo in Vienna June 9, 2009. The Exhibition "Trouble in Paradise" shows man made contaminants in animal environment to make visitors think about environmental pollution.

I think it's a very good idea to make people better visulaize of what pollution could impact on the ocean world.

i think the point could have better been made with something else besides a blue pvc toxic waste barrel, kinda tacky if you ask me

They should of just used clean glass bottles and randomly put them inn there. That would have made a more realistic point.

meh... it is tacky but it's for kids... they tend to miss subtleties... also the bottles would be nitrate traps... cmon think like a reefer

Idea is good but not in your face enough. Many would walk right but and the only thought would be "whys that in there" and then carry on. Needs to be more thought-provoking

IE: interactive displays showing water parm's before and after the introduction of various items.

Take a divided tank and have one half looking amazing and the other half of the tank looking like a mirror image however add the toxic barrel along with other junk. Cloud the water, a few fake dead fish, dead vegetation, barren rocks.
Then take a it a step further with a tank looking much better again with picture of people around it cleaning up the water ways. Not only would a before and after display like this really show the effect we can have, but it will also show what we can do in order to help fix it.

True very very true.....

But I think I have see pics of people tanks with a bottle in it all covered with coralline..... maybe wrong

Maybe it was a freshwater tank just covered with algae...
